He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewel Ellis Carter Jones and Van Wesley Carter; and his brothers, Jim "JC" Carter and Richard Denning "Rick" Carter. He is survived by: his children, Jason Carter-Francis (Tracie), Heather Bull (Ray), Vanessa Lynn Carter and Shaun Michael Carter; and his grandchildren, Vaughn Francis, Dayton Francis, Ashleigh Francis, Kailey Francis, Malekia Carter and Byron Carter.
