Lynda Matthews Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 7, 2025, at the age of 83, Lynda Matthews (Sparta, Tennessee) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Goss and Pearl Goss; her brother Jerry Edward Goss; and her grandparents, Flora Lee Robinson, Zack and Lillie Belle Goss.
She is survived by: her daughter Laura Everett (Brian) of Sparta; her grandchildren, Jack Everett and Eva Everett of Sparta, TN; her brother Steve Goss (Carole) of Clinton, TN; her sister-in-law Peggy Goss of Clinton, TN; her nieces and nephews, Justin Goss (Manda), Ryan Goss of Alaska, Melody Ashlee of Oliver Springs, TN and Amber Garcia (Andres) of Atlanta, GA; her extended family, Wayne, Judith, Sandra, Diane, Bradley and Kim; and her close friends, Darlene, Phyllis, Minnie, Carlene, Marie and Shelly. She is also survived by 2 great nieces, 1 great nephew.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Thurman Funeral Home (44 N Main St, Sparta, TN 38583). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Oak Grove Cemetery (114 N Gateway Ave Suite D, Rockwood, TN 37854).
