We are sad to announce that on August 29, 2024, at the age of 87, Loretta Wilhite (Sparta, Tennessee) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Lewis (C. L.) and Josie Hale Akins; her husband Bobby Wilhite; her son Edward Dean Wilhite; and her siblings, Charles Gordon Akins, Edward Akins, Robert Akins and Joyce Neal.

She is survived by: her daughters, Beth Bell (Jim), Carol Sparks and Darla Wilhite; her daughter-in-law Angie Wilhite; and her sisters, Betty Randolph (Clyde) and Linda Akins. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, a multitude of friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Tamil, India mission work directed by Don & Cathy Iverson.

“I'm sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. My first memory of knowing Loretta was when Mom and I went to Uncle C.L.'s place around 1957 (I was around 10 at the time). We had chicken dinner and I believe Loretta was given the job of catching the chicken. Mom, Aunt Elizabeth, and I visited again around 25-30 years ago and spent time with your Mom, Dad, and you guys. You all were so kind and loving to us. Both your Mom and Dad will be fondly remembered. Again, my condolences to your family. Ray Bob M”
