He is survived by: his wife Geneva Simmons; his son Richard Simmons; and his grandchildren, Allen "Shane" Simmons Jr., April Simmons, Lindsey Drew Dunham, Scarlett Dickson, Latoya Simmons and Shana Simmons. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
