He was predeceased by: his parents, Dovie Simmons (Manus) and Gordon Simmons; his siblings, Malcolm Simmons, Virginia Deweese and Aline Ashley; and his siblings-in-law, Gerald Roberts, Oscar Nunley, Lonnie Deweese, Herbert Ashley and Gail Lowery.
He is survived by: his wife Allene Simmons (Roberts) of Sparta; his daughter Victoria Pirrie (Jack) of Cookeville; his granddaughters, Emmaline Settles (Asa) of Sparta and Annabelle Pirrie of Cookeville; his siblings-in-law, Reba Simmons of Jasper, Patricia Marohn of Cookeville, Dale Sullivan of Cookeville, Lloyd Earl Roberts (Mary) of Sparta, Billy Roberts of Sparta and Phill Roberts of Trenton, MI; and his aunt Tennie Yates of Spencer.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Oak Lawn Funeral Home (1786 Smithville Hwy, Sparta, TN 38583). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 at the Spencer Town Cemetery (250 Billingsley St, Spencer, TN 38585).
In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Sparta First Baptist Church.
