He was predeceased by: his parents, John Marion Newport and Dortha Helen Newport; his wife Alene Morris Newport; his son Jeffery Newport; and his siblings, Gladys Newport Stringfield, Cletus Newport and David Newport.
He is survived by: his sons, Gregory Newport of Sparta, Edward Newport (Kim) of Sparta and Brian Newport (Becky) of Sparta; his grandchildren, Crystal Savage of Sparta, Jasmine Newport of Cookeville, Allen Newport (Whitney) of Sparta and Leanna Crook (Michael) of Smithville; his great grandchildren, Tracy Savage, Axl Newport, Ozzy Newport, Mason Crook, Eli Newport and Lily Buck; and his sister Evelyn Newport Slatton of Sparta.
