He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Gordan and Emily Juanita Powell Austin. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Palmer Austin; his children, Paul (Stacy Austin), Philip (Amy Austin) and Amanda (Jeff Randolph); his grandchildren, Jesse Austin (Lauren), Alicia Simmons (Cody), Joshua Austin, Nathaniel Randolph, Marissa Randolph, Jennifer Austin, Daniel Austin and Hannah Austin; his great grandchild Owen Simmons; and his siblings, Powell (Tricia Austin), Thomas (Wanda Austin), Wanda Sue (Kennith Williams), Janice Barnett (Glenn Maddox), Richard (Laura Austin) and Patricia (Scott Milliron A). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
