It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Lee Green Sr. of Sparta, Tennessee, who passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Green and Emma Jean Wilson Green; his daughter Michelle Green; his granddaughter Brooklyn Green; his brothers, Freddie Eugene Green and Johnnie (Lynn Green); his grandparents, Ova Doney, William Sylvester Green, Joe Wilson and Lora Usrey; and his brothers-in-law, Steve Young and Arthur Young.
He is survived by: his significant other Teresa Howard; his children, Annette Rogers, David Green, Jr., James Green, Regina Nicole Green, Leesa Staver and Eddie Staver; his grandchildren, Hunter Rodgers, Ali Rodgers, Kaley Knowles, Jacob Knowles, Emma Green, Joni Green, Ava Green, Lawrence "Jack" Staver and Maleigha Green; and his sisters, Kathy Young of Sparta, Teresa Young of Sparta, Phyllis Hollcomb (Jason) of Sparta, Bridgette Brock of Smithville and Sonya Mabe (Darrell) of Rock Island. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hunter Funeral Home (120 Bockman Way, Sparta, TN 38583). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home (120 Bockman Way, Sparta, TN 38583).
