With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vata Ree Phillips of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, who passed away on July 1, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Virgil Mathews and Maggie Holder Mathews; her husband Jack Phillips; her son Andrew Phillips; her siblings, Austin Mathews, Arthur Mathews and Virginia Nunley; and her grandson Jeremiah Phillips.

She is survived by : her sons, Jacky Phillips, Hal Phillips, Ronnie Phillips and Mark Phillips; and her brothers, Billy Mathews (Carol) and Pete Mathews (Rita). She is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews; one great grandchild and one great-great grandchild along with many other family members and special friends.
