It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Retha Bell Jackson Davis of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, born in Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on January 18, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Alston and William Clark; and her daughter Yvonne. She is survived by: her children, Bishop James Ravenel, Isaac Ravenell, Jesse Ravenel, Louis Greggs, Albert Clark, Betty Guess, Jenette Majors, Reverend James Cornelius Jackson Sr. (Lisa Jackson), Cheryl, William (Buddy), Lillian, Willette and Irene Davis of Baltimore, Maryland; her siblings, Bill (Barbara Davis), Loretta Fowler of Baltimore and Juanita Iverson of Fayetteville; her caregivers, Stephanie Willette, RN and Mary Ruth Whisnant; and her grandchildren, James Jackson, Nicholas Jackson and Whitney Campbell. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren as well as great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and family friends.
She received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost at a young age and was an active and faithful member of the House of God Church until its closing during the onset of COVID-19.
