He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Shavers and Alice Smith Shavers; his sons, Jason Dempsey and Les Ramsey; and his siblings, Donald Ray Shavers and Janet Shavers.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Stevens Shavers; his children, Eric Ramsey (Brandi) and Sherry Griffith (Leroy); and his siblings, Jack Shavers, Jr. (April), Rebecca Higginbotham (Gary) and Debbie Hollis (Kelsey). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other family members, and special friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Tate Funeral Home (950 Mel Dixon Ln, Jasper, TN 37347). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens (3076 Main St, Jasper, TN 37347).
