She was predeceased by : her parents, Howard Higgins and Hallie Hudson Higgins; her grandparents, Jake Higgins and Idonie Layne Higgins; and her siblings, Daniel Higgins, Odean Higgins and Agnes Higgins.

She is survived by : her husband Paul B. Layne; her son Benny Long; her stepsons, Les Layne and Bill Layne; her daughter Donnette Moore (Sam); her stepdaughter Rhonda Layne; her siblings, Bernard Higgins (Gail), Adrian Higgins, Ruth Colbaugh, Beverley Basham (Johnny) and Sheena Alktib; and her granddaughter Sammi Moore. She is also survived by other family members and friends.
