She was predeceased by: her parent Eric Cofield; her grandparent George Vernon of Isle; her husband James L. Abbott, Jr.; and her brother George. She is survived by: her parent Lydia Atkins Cofield; her grandparent Bessie Mae Atkins of Isle; her children, Laura Abbott Matthews (Rick) of Hampton and James Lester Abbott, III; her wife Kris Abbott of Chester, VA; her granddaughter Aubrey Mae Abbott; her brothers, John and Richard; and also Stephen Abbott of South Pittsburg, TN. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, 4669 South Blvd., #103, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
