He was predeceased by: his father William Lewis Merritt, Sr.; his son William "Will" Lewis Merritt, III; his grandparents, Curtis Lee, Kathryn Arendale Allison, Carl Frank and Beulah Northcutt Merritt; his parents-in-law, Dr. Horace Levoy and Mary Elmore; and his siblings-in-law, Michael Feher, Phillip Winfrey and Janice Elmore.
He is survived by: his mother Virginia Ann Allison Merritt; his wife Lauria Elmore Merritt; his son Matthew Elmore Merritt; his sisters, Kathryn "Cookie" Merritt, Sharon "Candy" Feher and Melissa "Missy" Emerling; his siblings-in-law, Levoy Elmore (Tina) and Jill Winfrey (Butch Maynor); his aunts and uncles, Eileen Murray (Bo), Bedford Allison (Bobbie Cloe), Jeannine Raulston, Charles Merritt and Charles Elmore; and his cousins, Gloria Smith (Randy), Marc Merritt (Priscilla) and Patricia Merritt Cornette. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
We respectfully request that "social distancing", wearing masks at all times, and all CDC guideline and measures are followed.
