He was predeceased by: his parents, George Long of Washington and Maebel Longmire Long; his stepson Mickey Long; and his siblings, Edna Mae Carter, Carol Crouse and David Long.

He is survived by: his wife Lois Steward Long of Somerville, TN; his sons, Joshua George Long (Amanda) of San Antonio, TX and Julian Wade Long (Krystle) of Somerville, TN; and his grandchildren, Abigail Long, Maddie Long, Avery Long, Cailin Long and Corina Long.
