She was predeceased by: her husband Cecil Steele Rice, Sr.; and her parents, William R. Nelson and Ethel Morgan Nelson. She is survived by: her sons, Cecil S. Rice, Jr., Preston Rice (Michelle) and Adam Wayne Rice; her brother Danny Nelson (Ruthie); her granddaughters, Shawna Herpy (Josh), Alysha Rice (Michael Taylor), Jenna Smith (Austin) and Beth Hodge; and her great grandchildren, Tinsley Herpy, Timber Herpy, Lyla Smith, Jeremiah Smith and Bella Hodge. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Williamson & Sons Funeral Home (8852 Dayton Pike, Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery (1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404).
