He was predeceased by: his parents, Haynes Pitts and Edna Lewis Pitts; his wife Latty Kay Kilgore Pitts; and his sisters, Mary Elizabeth Pitts Simpson, Patricia Pitts Allen and Jean Pitts Thomas.
He is survived by: his sister Judy Pitts Medearis; his children, Greg Pitts (Lisa) and Shara Thaxton (Tommy); and his grandchildren, Emily Thaxton Peace (Josh), Abigail Thaxton and David Pitts (Theresa). He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
