It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nelda Jean Ames (Soddy Daisy, Tennessee), who passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Austin and Jennie Austin; her siblings, Mildred, Jane Austin, Arthur and John Austin; and her son Darrell Ray Smith.

She is survived by: her daughters, Debbie Curtis (Mike) and Darlene Wilbanks (Alfred). She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.
