He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Dr. Arthur, Edith Parks Vieth, Henry and Ruby Morgan Wilson. He is survived by: his parents, Barbara Vieth Wilson and Robert Carlos Wilson; his children, Rachael Mayne (Steven), Kaleigh Jenay Wilson (Chris Stephens), Kelsey Loren Wilson and Alaina Charlize Wilson; his grandchildren, Charles Sterling Mayne and Piper Jenay Stephens; his siblings, Robert Allen Wilson (Laura), Christopher John Wilson (Buffi) and Rebekah Phillips Shirley (Colyn); his caregiver Nikki Landreth; and also, Brett, Angel, Bobby, Sarah, Caleb and Jacob.

“I am sorry to hear of Matt’s passing. I had the pleasure of getting to know him when I was younger when my cousin, who was a lifeguard at Chester Frost park, took me to work with her daily that summer. Matt was a lifeguard there too. He always treated me with kindness and respect. We played volleyball most days after the lifeguards finished their shifts. All of us would swim laps and have a great time.
