He is survived by: his wife Barbara Lee; his children, Robert E. Lee (Janet), Charles M. Lee (Susan) and Judy D. Lee; his sibling Willoden Bearden; his sisters-in-law, Patsy Epperson and Lou Emma Lee; his grandchildren, Laura Melshemer (Nicholas), Robert Lee II (Yasmina), Johnathan Lee, David Lee (Jennifer), Daniel Lee (Katie) and Shelby Huber (Grant); and his great grandchildren, Nicholas III, Hannah, Willow, Vincent, Sawyer and Aidah.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to New Salem Baptist Church in his memory.
