He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Elmer and Gertrude Mahan; and his siblings, Bill Mahan, Jessie Johnson, Katherine Millard, Frances Griffin, Eddie Knox, Ruby Pendergrass, Maggie Mahan and Lydia Mahan.
He is survived by: his wife Eva Mahan; his children, Randy Mahan (Jessica), Rita Kuntz (Jeff), Dawn Walker (Tommy), Diana Yell (Randy Wilson) and Mister Bowman (Sherry); his grandchildren, Josh King, Hailey Mahan, Abby Walker, Emily Ooten, Elijah Bowman, Asher Bowman, Erica Harley and Adam Gravitt; and his great grandchildren, Gage King, Caroline Harley, Madelyn Harley and Austin Harley. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
