He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Petty and Lorene Uren Petty; his wife Charlotte Petty; and his pet Shorty. He is survived by: his brothers, Bob Petty, Norman Petty and David Petty; his daughter Kim Petty Garner; his son-in-law Ted Garner; his grandson Taylor Garner; and his siblings, Ruth Alice Green and Donnie Petty.
