He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Stamey and Mary Ellen Stamey; his sisters, Dean Boyd and Shirley Campbell; and his nephew Kenny Nelson.

He is survived by: his wife Suzan Stamey; his children, Steven Stamey and Emily Stamey; his grandchildren, Patricia Stamey and Winston Brown; and his sisters, Patsy Simmons and Angela Hunley.
