He was predeceased by: his parents, Orbie Lee and Effie Nelson; his brother Orbie Junior Nelson; and his grandparents, Texanna White Prescott, Lula E. Holmes Nelson, John Henry White and Christian Nelson (Lum).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Nelson of Sneedville, TN.; his children, Tonya Terrell (Brian) of Frankfort, KY., Becky Roberts (Wiley) of Milner, GA. and Richard (Paul) of Silver Valley, NV.; and his grandchildren, Madison, Chelsea and Brooke.
