He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy New and Virginia Baker New. He is survived by: his wife Linda New; and his children, Lynn Merritt Todd, Walter Merritt, Karen Winfrey (Jeff) and Jason New (Sonya). He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; brother.
