It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Allen Cavanaugh Jr. of Smyrna, Tennessee, who passed away on June 11, 2024, at the age of 49, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, Richard Allen is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Richard Allen's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

He was predeceased by: his son Chase Cavanaugh. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Cavanaugh; his son Nathan Cavanaugh; his parents, Rosie Cavanaugh, and Richard Cavanaugh, Sr.; his sisters, Mary Ann Carter, Nancy Marie Jones and Stacey Lynn Smith; and his nieces and nephews, Destiny, Shyanna, Tori, Johnny and Eric.

“I talked to Rick the night before he was so happy and full of life that he was going to play n64 with Nathan, as I was on the phone with him while he was having a conversation with Nathan on how to setup the n64. It was great the two of them were gonna sit down and play for hours, as i texted Rick the next day how did it go his replay was it was awesome and we stayed up way too late... Rick and I knew each other for sometime and through that we became brothers, I loved him and will miss him!”
