He is survived by: his wife Deborah Brown of Smithville; his children, Christine Patterson (Daryl) of MIchigan, Rianna Barnes (Joe) of Michigan and James Messina, Jr. (Jo Amber) of Chattanooga; his grandchildren, Samuel Patterson and Jesse Messina (Kayla) of Michigan; his great grandchildren, Gideon Alexander Hood of Sparta, Levi, Cameron, Jo Anna and Aidan; and his siblings, Gary Brown (JoAnn), Larry Brown (Julie) of Smithville, Janice Miller Smith and Richard Brown. He is also survived by Many nieces and nephews.
