He was predeceased by: his parents, L. C. Murphy and Patty Neal Murphy; and his siblings, Burce Murphy and Martha Sue Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Murphy of Smithville; his sons, Cody Murphy (Michaela) of Smithville and Alex Murphy of Smithville; his grandchildren, Brayden, Austin, Colby, Trey, Alton, Colton, Hunter and Elizabeth; his siblings, Lisa Bain, Teesha Reynolds (Keith) of Smithville, Curtis Murphy (Pam) of Indiana, Calvin Murphy (Angel) of Indiana and Sherman Murphy of Smithville; his brother-in-law Dickie Ray Bain; and his friend Melinda Murphy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family ask donations may be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses.
