He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leo and Zora Cantrell Ashburn; and his brother Joe Phillip Ashburn. He is survived by: his son Stephen Ashburn of Smithville; the mother of his child Lynn Rooker of Murfreesboro; and his siblings, Carolyn Adcock (Woody) of Smithville, Mark Ashburn (Evelena) of Smithville and James Thomas Johnson of New Mexico.
