It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derek Wade McIntosh of Smithville, Tennessee, born in Oxford, Ohio, who passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 36, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Derek Wade has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Lonnie Mack and Malessia Bowling (Sugar). He is survived by: his parents, Eric McIntosh of Smithville and Marla Harsh (Richard) of Indiana; his daughter Melody McIntosh; the mother of his child Cassandra Yanicki of Rock Island; his siblings, Chayil Gindling (Cory) of Indiana, Andrew Harsh of Indiana and Dylan Harsh of Indiana; and his grandparents, Charles Bowling and Ruth Wilson of Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Love-Cantrell Funeral Home (100 E Church St, Smithville, TN 37166). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
