He was predeceased by: his siblings, James "Bill" William Jones, Jr., Edmund Jones and Kathleen Johnson. He is survived by: his great-grandparent Alexander Heren; his wife Connie Duke Jones; his children, Wendell M. Jones, Jr. (Amy), Nancy Jones Battles (David) and Mary Jones McGehee (Buddy); and his grandchildren, Will Jones (Juliet), Mary Clare Jones Geyman (Isaac), Sam Jones, Cliff Jones, Fran Battles, Duke Battles (Emily), Fletcher Battles (Dani), Nate McGehee (Hannah), Alex McGehee (Kayla) and Spencer McGehee. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-laws, a nephew and several nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Presbyterian Church or First Presbyterian Church's Camp Vesper Point.
