Velma Lou Almon Maynard Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Velma Lou Almon Maynard (Signal Mountain, Tennessee), born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 2, 2024 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Pomeroy Almon, Jr. and Velma Malone Drisdale Almon; her husband John L. Maynard; and her siblings, Charles P. Almon, III and Allison Almon Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Charles (Janice), Allison (Hamp), John (Rhea), Almon (Sarah) and Martha (David); her sisters, Sarah Almon Gomien and Mary Almon Pugh; and her grandchildren, Caroline (Jamie), Anna (Chris), Lucy, Laura, Kelsie (Cory), Courtney (Charlie), Drew (Macy), Dawson, Reggie (Cheyenne), Paul, Greg, Alex, Stephanie, Doug (Evgeniya), Kelly, Rebekah (Brandon), Roger and Jessica. She is also survived by her twenty-two great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
