It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Egbert Miles Jr. (Signal Mountain, Tennessee), who passed away on August 22, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam E. Miles and Mary Liddell Miles; and his siblings, William Liddell Miles and Mary Ann Heard. He is survived by: his children, Brian Herndon Miles (Clara) of Niceville, FL, Juliet H. Miles Bouchard (Marc) of West Jefferson, NC and Sam E. Miles III of New Orleans, LA.; his wife Roberta Tillery Miles; and his grandchildren, Brayton Davis Miles (Annalise) of Los Angeles, Camille Alden Miles of Atlanta and Holt McCoy Bouchard of West Jefferson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Hunter Museum of Art or Wayside Presbyterian Church.
