He is survived by: his parent Will Clark Hanks; his wife Joan Hill Hanks; his daughters, Jeanne Balsam (John) of Atlanta and Judith Fethe (Allen) of Knoxville; his grandchildren, Justin Balsam (Leanne), Jeffrey Balsam (Kelly), Bo Fethe and Allison Fethe Jackson (Aaron); his great grandchildren, Chloe Balsam, Jeffrey Balsam Jr and George Balsam; his godson Hugh Griffith Garner; and his nieces and nephews, Richard Seymour, Jerry Sims Jr, David Sims, Stephen Sims, Richard Brown, Donna Seymour, Ann Seymour, Carolyn Sims, Diane Haynes Whittaker, Diane Hoey and Barbara Wimpee.
