He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian Ruth Lee and William Clyde Lee; and his wife Kay Dodson Nottingham Lee. He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Thomas, Whitney Smith (Michael) and Carrie Mullins (Corey); his grandchildren, Issac, Seth, Elijah, Micah Thomas, Michael Jr., Summer Smith, Grady, Tate and Levi Mullins; his sisters-in-law, Sue Schiller (Richard) and Valerie; and his nieces and nephews, Kathryn Wurster, Margaret Schiller Romanof, Leigh Sand and Timothy Nottingham.

A graveside service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Forest Hills Cemetery (4016 Tennessee Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37410). A memorial service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Northshore Fellowship Church (118 Woodland Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37405).
