He is survived by: his daughter Ladayshi Gates of Murfreesboro; his sister Mitzi Smith Carter of Nashville; his grandchildren, Aniiyah Ward, Kaliane Ward, Joshua Ward, Keenan Gates, Zayvion Smith and Za'Marion Jerome Smith; his nephew Zachary Smith; his cousins, Addline Green and Tammie Williams; his aunt Emma Lou Smith; and his friend Pamela Lett of Murfreesboro.
