Samuel Coats Jr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Samuel Coats Jr. of Shelbyville, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 30, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Samuel had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Samuel may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy "Dot" Rich Coats; and his granddaughter Renee Gentry McCormick. He is survived by: his children, Brenda Bland (Graham) of Wartrace, Melissa Tibbs (Paul) of Manchester and Samuel Ward Coats, III (Gena) of Shelbyville; and his grandchildren, Jason Gentry, Sameul Coats IV, Laquitta Curry, Cathy Blindt and Robert DeLuca III. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Feldhaus Memorial Chapel (2022 N Main St, Shelbyville, TN 37160). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
