With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nellie Ruth Swagerty of Shelbyville, Tennessee, born in Thomasville, North Carolina, who passed away on December 8, 2021 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Lee "Slim" and Willie Mae Thomas Cannon; and her husband Freddie "Fluff" Swagerty. She is survived by: her children, Mark Swagerty (Catherine), Craig Swagerty, George Swagerty (Becky) and Teresa; and her siblings, Joe Michael Cannon and Julia Cannon. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
