He was predeceased by: his mother Betty Thompson; and his stepfather Rod Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Venessa; his children, Michael Logan McClanahan, Shelley Lovvorn (Kevin) and Brittney Self (Chris); his grandchildren, Stratton of Shelbyville, TN, Landon Lovvorn of Shelbyville, TN, Jaxson of Shelbyville, TN, Sadie Rose Self of Shelbyville, TN, Izzy of Shelbyville, TN, Ben of Shelbyville, TN and LettiMae McClanahan of Shelbyville, TN; his stepmother Pam McClanahan of Shelbyville, TN; and his siblings, Amy Molder (Steven) of Shelbyville, TN, Mark McClanahan of California, Chris Tucker (Tammy) of Shelbyville, TN and Charles Tucker (Melissa) of Virginia. He is also survived by his loving nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Feldhaus Memorial Chapel (2022 N Main St, Shelbyville, TN 37160). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
