She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Powell and Eva Collier Thompson of Virginia; her husband James W. Payne, Sr.; and her siblings, Sara Juanita Ippoliti and Ernie Thompson.
She is survived by: her children, James Willard Payne, Jr. (Reada) of Tullahoma, Thomas Lee Payne (Susan) of Murfreesboro and Laura Ellen Horton (Gary Gibbs) of Tullahoma; her grandchildren, Lyndsey Lonning (Kevin), Ashley Carter, Jonathan Horton (Taylor), Nathaniel Payne and Matthew Payne; and her great grandchildren, Keelie Lonning, Kaleb Lonning, Ryker Lonning, Addison Mahaffey, Evalyn, Ella Carter and Grainger Horton. She is also survived by nephews and nieces.
