He was predeceased by: his father Edward Thomas; his wife Martha June Nichols Stephens; his son Ronnie Stephens; and his siblings, Nancey Sanders Linda Evener, Virginia Smith, Gay Wallace, Edward Stephens, Tommy Stephens, Bill Stephens, Sam Stephens and Rafe "Whistle" Stephens.
He is survived by: his daughter Vicki Lamb (Clyde) of Shelbyville; his grandson Chad Odeneal (Moranda) of Shelbyville; his great grandchildren, Savannah, Dillain, Katie, Zain and Cody; and his great great grandchildren, Ella Kate, Greyson and Addison.
