He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Odelle and Imogene Thomas Waid; his brother-in-law Stanley Pierce; and the mother of his children Camila Kay. He is survived by: his children, Jarrod Waid (Amy) of Shelbyville, Courtney Smotherman (Clint) of Shelbyville and J. D. Waid of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Sophie, Hudson Waid, Ben, Max and Judah Smotherman; and his siblings, Pam Pierce of Lynchburg and Dwayne Waid (Donna) of Shelbyville.
