He was predeceased by: his father Marion Francis; and his son Jeffrey Wilson. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Jansen Wilson of Shelbyville; his children, Timothy Wilson (Teresa), Eric Wilson (Jedeane) and Christy Smith (Chris); his brothers, Robert Wilson (Jean), David Wilson, Ronald Wilson and Kevin Wilson; and his granddaughter Bailey Elizabeth Wilson.

John would be honored with memorials to Alzheimer's Association, or St. William Catholic Church.
