He was predeceased by: his father Hershel Ivan Maurer; his wife Josie Maurer; and his siblings, Barbara Rice and Keith Maurer. He is survived by: his daughters, Jane M. Stierwalt of Shelbyville and Karen R. Marstein of Arizona; his grandchildren, Drew Stierwalt (Jess), Kurt Mathews, Anna Mathews, Nikola Mathews and Daniel Marstein, II (Alicia Peters); and his great grandchildren, Matthew Hafey, Elyott Hafey, Victoria Hafey, Taylor Stierwalt, Garen Mathews, Melanthe Marstein and Asterin Marstein.
