She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Morton Overcast Sr. and Lilly Tillett Overcast; her husband Glenn "Bo" Melson; and her brother Samuel Terry Overcast. She is survived by: her son David Melson of Shelbyville; and her siblings, Carolyn "Cookie" Smith of Plano and Roy Morton Overcast Jr. (Ralph DiPalma) of Brentwood.
Harriet died at NHC-Tullahoma after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease and complications from COVID-19.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
