With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald Fry Cowell of Shelbyville, Tennessee, who passed away on February 18, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Gerald leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Gerald may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Glenn Cowell and Pauline Baucom Cowell; his children, Brenda Finney and Charles Edward Derryberry, III; and his granddaughter Danielle Miles.
He is survived by: his wife Lila Cowell; and his children, Jeff Cowell (Lisa) of Unionville, TN, Rick Cowell (Wanda) of Shelbyville, TN and Kim Fowler. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Feldhaus Memorial Chapel (2022 N Main St, Shelbyville, TN 37160). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
