He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frederick Hicks and Phyllis Hicks (Olin); his wife Shirley Hicks of Shelbyville, TN; his sons, Neal Hicks Akasaka (Neeva Chitrakar) of Nashville, TN and Phillip Hicks Akasaka (Marina Pearce) of Orlando, FL; his granddaughter Ayana Chitrakar Akasaka; his brother Michael Hicks; his former wife Mari Akasaka Hicks; and his sisters, Karen Glynn and Candice Hardenburg.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church (600 S Main St, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Rosehill Cemetery West Street (1210 West St, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827).
