He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Henry Smith and Alleanor Jones Smith; and his sisters, Patricia Ann Floyd and Jenelle Troxler. He is survived by: his wife Mildred Louise Smith; his children, Franklin Keith Smith of Shelbyville and Kathy Yearwood (Ronald) of Lebanon, TN.; his sister Thelma Cook of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Ron Yearwood, Russell Yearwood (Jennifer), Spencer Smith, Ryan Yearwood (Olivia) and Ellie Smotherman (Jonathan); and his great grandchildren, Aster Yearwood, Evan Yearwood, Larsen Yearwood, Lucy Yearwood, Benjamin Smith, Lydia Yearwood and Liam Smotherman.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Hillcrest Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop 370 or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
