It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Essie Green Reese of Shelbyville, Tennessee, born in Lynchburg, Tennessee, who passed away on November 4, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Milton Green; her husband Collins Reese; her children, Charles Whitaker, Robert Lee Whitaker, Roger Eddins, Ginnie B. Cole, Mary Elizabeth Woodard and Peggy Hickerson; and her grandson Vernon Eddins.
She is survived by: her children, Henry Whitaker (Margaret), Mary Ortiz, Joe Henry Eddins, Diane Eddins and Jackie Bowers; her grandchildren, Sylvia Hiles, Beverly Hewitt Hayes (Darrell), Tisha Lanier Livingston, Truly Cole, Janice Cole, Teresa Miles (Tony), Matthew Hickerson-Uhl (Jon), Joseph "Bozo" Evans (Daravanh), Vincent Woodard and Estelle Duff (Robert); her great grandchild Essie Eddins; and her niece Linda Jean Harvey.
