She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Porterfield and Violet Hooker Porterfield; her husband James Newman; and her sister Glenna Tollett. She is survived by: her children, Dottie Schermaker of Pennsylvania and Johnny Nixs; and her stepdaughters, Terry Parish (David) of Estill Springs, Janie Townes (Gary) of Tullahoma and Dawna Adcock (Kenneth) of Tullahoma. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
